Here is a comment that was sent to the magazine Tackle Trade World

I wish to comment on a section of an article by Louis Tchertoff in the August edition.

In the article, he comments on the change that has occured in the selling pattern. It is identical in South Africa. The only exception being that out here, there is minimal brand loyalty. The retailer tends to run up an excessive account, and when pressed for payment, moves on to another distributor and starts selling a totally different range of brands. The same happens to the second distributor and the retailer moves on to yet another distributor! It is a viciouus circle, which shows great immaturity on the part of the retailer, as the brand he was previously punting, he is now trashing! And so it goes full circle when he has paid the first distributor and then welcomes him back into the fold.

Fortunately, this is not true of all retailers and one must not generalise. But is becomig more and more prevalent that the distributor is expected to act as the retailers warehouse, carry excessive stock holdings and then carry the retailer as a banker! Please ask Louis how we break this cycle!

Best regards

Geoff

You can fish in Villa Nova de Milifontes.
You need to go at a ATM and request a license, by giving your ID and "contribuinte nº" the machine automatcly gives you the license... you can get it for a day, a month, a year..... a local (district) or national. Only for salt water... in freshwater you need to get another one....

At Soud at Villa Nova de Milifontes now exists new rules and restrictions that locals can tell you about.

Best regards.

"...If you're not going to eat it, don't reel it in."

This person doesn't know how to think. They probably would have been horrified if the guy had eaten that marlin, as well. (I would have, rather than just throw it overboard: that seems wasteful to me.) Not to mention that you typically don't know what you have caught until you reel it in. And if you cut the line, you leave the fish in danger of fouling itself in the line and dying. When you reel it in, you can almost always release it.

This person is either a vegan or a hypocrite. If they ever eat fish, they are especially hypocritical. Fishermen using hook and line either catch and keep, or catch an release, depending on the fish. Unwanted death is unusual. Commercially caught fish ALWAYS involve "bycatch", which is newspeak for killing fish and other animals (e.g. dolphins, turtles) that won't be used. People who eat things they don't kill themselves shouldn't label those who do as "barbaric". The practices of the modern industrial food industry are, I assure you, far more barbaric, and directly sponsored by those who purchase the food.

I checked for you on a few Portuguese fishing forums, and although I could not get a clear answer for that particular spot. You should be OK, as long as you are not on a concessionned beach. There are certainly still plenty of excellent fishing spots around that area. You will need to purchase your sea fishing licence. It will be best to ask local anglers, if you can speak some Portuguese.

Dear Pat,
The Perfeel is an brand new product for which distribution has not yet been established in the USA. We will however be actively working to make the product available in your market. I will keep you informed of any development.
Many thanks for your inquiry.
